After a first inspection we send your file(s) to up to 20 top Antivirus companies to claim a false positive. Our direct relation with the virus labs of the AVs gives us a significant advantage in processing performance and outcome.
We keep continuous contact with the virus labs of each AV and follow up on the whitelisting process for 7 consecutive days. In case there is a need for refining your application, we will go into a maximum of three iterations with you. If this level is reached or the period of 7 days is exceeded, we will provide you with a quotation for a full whitelisting package for your file(s). Experience has shown that more than 90% of all our customers obtain a whitelisting with AVs through our initial service and only 9% or less have to make use of the full whitelisting package. Package 3: Cleaning up Antivirus false positives
We start by performing a full assessment to create a security score for your file(s). Testing against AV detections, online reputation testing and forum response are some of the methods we use. As a result we create a score for your file(s) which helps in categorizing. Based on this score, progress can be measured as soon as our recommendations are implemented.
We examine your file(s) for techniques typically used by malware writers. It does not mean that you are a malware writer or that your file(s) are malware, but some third party libraries or pieces of code have strange coding sequences or techniques which are ALSO used by the bad guys. We give recommendations how to improve your file(s) and create clean code (from an AV perspective).
Bad user experience are a common cause for bad reputation and flagging by AVs. Tricking a user into a paid premium service, scaring the user or annoying users by being too present on screen (quantity and quality wise) is considered bad behavior and leads to flagging. We perform a full user experience examination and list weaknesses and give recommendations how to avoid flagging without compromising your business model.
We will provide you with a report after 48 hours which shows the critical items we found. For each of these items we give clear recommendations how to get clean in front of AVs. In case of a significantly low score you will also receive a quotation for a full whitelisting package.
